A specialist bridge between the lab and the market.

Clementis exists to close the distance between scientific discovery and commercial value — with the rigor of a scientist and the discipline of a strategist.

Who we are

Turning complex research into products the world can use.

Clementis Scientific Consulting is a high-level translational science and innovation strategy firm. We partner with organizations at the frontier of science to transform complex research into commercially viable, regulatory-aligned, and globally scalable solutions.

Our work sits precisely where breakthroughs stall: between a promising result and a launched product. We combine deep scientific expertise — nanotechnology, precision medicine, biomaterials, green chemistry — with the market intelligence, regulatory literacy, and program discipline needed to carry an innovation across the finish line. The firm is deliberately lean and founder-led, which means clients work directly with senior scientific judgment, not a hierarchy of intermediaries.

Our mission

To de-risk and accelerate the translation of frontier science into products that improve health, sustainability, and quality of life — everywhere they are needed.

Our vision

A world where the best science reaches the market on its merits — not lost to avoidable gaps in evidence, regulation, or commercial strategy.

Our promise

Honest, evidence-first counsel. If a programme is not ready — or not viable — you will hear it early, with the reasoning and the path to fix it.

The founders

Two founders. One standard.

Deep translational science, paired with a delivery system built to carry it — Clementis was founded by Dr. Velaphi Thipe and Azania Jameson.

Dr. Velaphi Thipe

Founder & Principal Consultant

  • Ph.D. Chemistry — University of Missouri (Fulbright Scholar)
  • MBA, Life-Sciences Innovation — University of Missouri
  • M.Sc. Nanoscience — University of Johannesburg
  • B.S. Biotechnology — University of Johannesburg
  • Former Postdoctoral Fellow, Radiology
  • Affiliate, Institute of Green Nanotechnology

Dr. Thipe’s career spans five countries and the full arc of translational science — from fundamental nanochemistry to registered, commercially available products.

Scientific specialization

Green nanotechnology and phytochemical synthesis, cancer-focused nanomaterials, radiolabeled nanoparticle imaging, and bioactive barrier technologies.

Cross-continental experience

Research, collaboration, and commercial delivery across South Africa, the United States, Brazil, India and Japan — with working knowledge of their regulatory environments.

Regulatory & IP track record

Secured ANVISA registration for a nanotechnology medical product; fluent across FDA, EMA, PMDA, CDSCO and SAHPRA pathways; inventor on pending U.S. patents.

Public recognition

Featured on KOMU 8 News and the TEDxCoMo stage for work advancing green nanotechnology and its real-world applications.

Azania Jameson

Co-Founder — Strategy & Operations

  • Architect of the Clementis delivery system
  • Research intelligence & evidence synthesis
  • Engagement operations across four continents
  • Runs the Insight Lab→Market programme
  • The firm’s standard: no claim without its evidence

Azania is the systems half of Clementis — the delivery engine behind the science. Where Dr. Thipe brings the research and regulatory depth, she builds the machinery that turns it into decisions a client can act on.

Delivery architecture

Every engagement runs on systems Azania designed — evidence pipelines, decision frameworks and reporting cadences that let a deliberately lean firm operate with the reach of a large one.

Research intelligence

Horizon scanning and evidence synthesis behind every recommendation: literature, regulatory precedent and competitive signals, distilled to exactly what the decision needs.

Client experience

One point of continuity from first call to final deliverable — nothing handed off, nothing lost between stages.

The operating standard

No recommendation leaves Clementis without the evidence trail to defend it — the discipline the whole firm is built around.

What guides the work

Five commitments.

The principles that shape every engagement — and that clients can hold us to.

Scientific rigor

Every recommendation is grounded in evidence and mechanism — never hype.

Patient & user safety

Safe-by-design thinking sits at the centre of the science, not the margins.

Global scalability

We design for multiple markets and regulators from the very first decision.

Green technology

Cleaner chemistry and sustainable materials as a competitive advantage.

Cross-continental collaboration

Partnership across borders, disciplines, and institutions is how hard problems get solved.

Why Clementis

What a specialist founder-led firm gives you.

A

A proven translational track record

Named programmes taken from concept through regulation to market — including an ANVISA-registered nanotechnology product and commercialized green-nano consumer lines.

Products, not decks
B

Genuine regulatory reach

Working fluency across FDA, EMA, ANVISA, PMDA, CDSCO and SAHPRA — the multi-jurisdiction coordination most advisors cannot offer.

Six+ jurisdictions
C

Multidisciplinary depth

Chemistry, nanoscience, biotechnology, and business strategy in one advisor — so the science and the commercial case are built together.

One senior mind
D

End-to-end perspective

From SAR optimization to launch sequencing, the whole path is held in view — no handoffs that drop the thread.
